Mouldable – immersing series part 1

performance | plaster, human beings, wooden board, buckets

Description:

With this work Melanie Maria continues on a series of performances, the main one being a performance where she poured candle wax over a rocking chair in an attempt to secure the idea of home. The chair was ripped off afterwards from the wooden board, which created an imprint.

The board was the starting point of the new work for this exhibition. In this performance as a part of the ongoing series of performances, Melanie Maria uses the idea of securing something again. This time, plaster is being poured over her own body. By this she is literally attaching herself to the board underneath her.
